How I work
My approach to therapy is grounded in my study and training in psychoanalytic and psychodynamic theory and practice. Using this tradition I work to create a safe, confidential and compassionate space for us to understand together what difficulties bring you to therapy and how to overcome problems, alleviate symptoms and live a more full and fulfilling life. I have found gaining a deeper understanding into the formative relationships that have shaped us, our innate character and our current environment can lead to lasting insight and change. I also integrate other modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness and solution focused techniques to cater treatment to the unique individuals I work with.

Education: BA in American Studies from Hampshire College; MA in counseling psychology with a focus in addiction from Lewis & Clark College; Psychoanalytic Institue of Northern California yearlong Early Career Case Conference; Northern California Society for Psychoanalytic Psychology yearlong Intensive Study Group; South Bay Community for Psychoanalytic Study and PINC yearlong seminars: What's Going On? Race, Culture, Trauma and the Collective Unconscious; Back to Basics: Contemporary Perspectives on Early Theoretical Structures.
In addition to my private practice I have provided supervision through the Wright Institute for PsyD candidates. I am on the editorial commitee for the NCSPP psychoanalytic journal fort da. I provide sliding scale therapy through the Known and Elsewhere Collective and help run Parapraxis Books.
